This asparagus variety is a heirloom variety with a fuller flavor. Asparagus plants are perennial and Mary Washington can continue to produce for up to 20-years. Do note it will take 2-years of growth before you have a light crop and starting the third season you will have a regular crop thereafter. Long after harvest, the graceful, feathery green foliage is still attractive. This open-pollinated variety will reproduce from female flowers in your growing bed making more plants over the years.
