Heavy Hitter Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus) is a green fruited variety developed by Ron Cook at Dry Creek Farm in Moodys, Oklahoma. It was first brought to our attention from a mention in Chris Smith’s book The Whole Okra: A Seed to Stem Celebration. With a name like Heavy Hitter, we knew we had to try it!

Plants reach up to seven feet tall and produce up to 150 fruit per season. Very sturdy branches. This is a great variety for market production and backyard growers alike.
