Named for the lovely spring wildflower, this radish shares its namesake's vibrant color and oval shape. Radishes are very early and easy; they can be planted as soon as the ground can be worked, and they only take about 28 days to be ready. Because they sprout so fast, radishes are often used to make the rows of other, slower, seeds--like parsnips, carrots, and herbs. Pink Lady-Slipper is a high-quality open-pollinated variety that stays juicy and sweet without getting woody or pithy. For best quality, all radishes need cool conditions and moist soil. They are usually planted in early spring and again in fall.
