The earliest watermelon I know of. Really tasty with a great crisp texture. It has the same small size and sweet scarlet flesh as Sugar Baby, but the texture is crisper and less grainy. Plus, it's earlier and more resilient in cool springs. A great watermelon, bred by Glenn Drowns so that he could grow watermelon in extremely short, cool season of the northern Idaho Mountains. Since then, it has proved to be a winner in varied climates all over the country. In warmer climates like ours, it's a great first-early melon, to usher in the season, or succession-sown for the whole summer. 30 seeds
