We use a small gusseted mycological grain spawn bag from Unicorn Bags w/ a self healing injection port and a .2 micron filter patch.
Locally sourced, clean whole oats that have been properly rinsed, hydrated, and bagged using our proper techniques are then sterilized for over 90 minutes, sealed and cooled down, then are ready to use.

(The grain serves as a seed for the mycelium to eat up and take over, thus becoming grain spawn/mycelium block. Which can then be used for mixing with our pasteurized substrate for one of many options.)
